Girl's camp and what's happening..Please Pray!

Hello dearest brothers and sisters!!!
We have lots of new exciting histories of what God is doing here in this part our city. I want to tell you everything and still not write a book, I'll try I promisse.
Last week we were invited to a meeting with another organizations that also are working with the street children, they are gathering to discuss about specific children who are a challenge for us to give an answer.
So this meeting was about Jessica, a 12 year old girl who's been on crack for to years and now she has 2 diferent kinds of STDs and a disease on her bones, many contacts were made with the family that doesn't show any interest about the girl. So in the meeting the Jorge Arthur wich is a Major Social assistent from the health court of the city, managed to get a place for Jessica at a hospital, she is going to stay for a few weeks to be treated, but the hospital only took her in if she had a adult with her for 24 hours, so us from Toque, Cena wich are christians organizations, Quixote and the Gorvenment social assistents secular organizations, are going to stay with her, each person for 5 hours, I wrote about the organizations being "christians" and "secular" because its so exciting that we are is we are all working together for this girl well being, is beyond religion, organization Titles, even church denominations, God loves so much this girl that He will use anyone that is willing to love her simply!
After the treatment she is going to a rehab house for a few months and after we are praying for a shelter that will take her in permanently.
Pray, Pray, Pray that she will stay untill the end of the treatment, she asks a lot about when her mother is coming to visit her, we already told her mother but she hasn't come to see her daughter.Pray that her story will change forever, that she allows Jesus to heal her pain, her wounded heart.
Two weeks ago Bia and Melanie went to the brothel, they met one girl who had been away from the brothel for 3 years, the man she was living with left her and now she had to make money to feed her children, so she met the girls at the same day and time she had arrived, when Bia talked to her she cried so much and said she didn't want to work at the brothel and she was desperate to buy food for the children, so Bia invited her to our chocolate truffle course, she came straight away, we taught her, helped her with food, and even went to the streets and stores to sell the chocolate, she sold 50 in one afternoon! We are so happy that she is starting to see hope to her future, she wants to come to church on sunday, said that she wants to know more about our God.
Praise the Lord!!!
He will do so much through and in us if we only surrender our ways.

Special Saturday Camp

Hello dear friends!

We are very excited for the weekend to come, we and another christian organizations are organizing a saturday camp for the teenage girls from the streets, it´s going to be a whole day of activities, fun and love.

We want them to experience how much they are valued and their worth. One shelter has an opening for one girl that shows interest to leave the streets, you may think that only one vacancy is not enough, but usually they are not willing to leave the street life style, they are believing in the lie that they have true freedom living this way.

So we ask you to pray that God will bless this time with them, pray that they come, that they wont get distracted with drugs and forget about the camp, that He will bring the right girl who is really willing to change and open her life to God´s transforming love.

News from the week

This was an exciting week, last Thursday we had the transvestites dinner, it was such a great time, Mission CENA is having a urban missions school every Saturday afternoon and their students organized the dinner, 13 transvestites showed up, they stayed for 2 hours chatting with the students, they were very comfortable and it seemed they didn’t want to leave. We had a short word and live music playing.

We are also very happy with Edinadia, she is a girl who’s been on the streets since she was very little, a few weeks ago she told us she wanted to go to the rehab farm, she was excited about going and starting a new life with Jesus, so this Tuesday the missionaries from Mission Cena were waiting for her to arrive because they had a opening at the farm for her, and she was supposed to go on that Tuesday.

She didn’t show up, we from Toque went as usual to the crack land to do the first aid on people, when we got there, the first person we saw was her. We talked to her about the opening and the opportunity she was missing if she didn’t go to the farm, but she was so craving for the drug that she wouldn’t listen to us, nothing we were telling her seemed to make a difference, she was going for the crack
.
We went back to Missão Cena and Lilian and Daniele ( Cena´s missionaries), insited to go back to talk to Edinadia one more time. So we went back running because the bus to the farm was going to leave soon, we found her with some other girls, Lilian said: Hey, what are you doing here? This is your day, come!

Edinadia at the same time stood up and came with us, she not even said good bye to the girls she was with. On the way to Cena she threw all her drugs away, and all the things that would remind her of the streets, it was totally the Lord working in that moment.
After much running she made it to the bus and the farm. Yei!

She will spend around 9 months there, and we know it will be a difficult time of changes for her, so please join us in prayer that she will remain at the farm and complete her treatment.

Praise the Lord for all He has done and is doing!!

Baptism

Last Sunday we had the privilege of going to the baptism of 25 people who are recovering at a rehab house we partner with, two of the guys who got baptized were fruits of the last camp we organized for the transvestites, they have been on recovery for 9 and 6 months, it’s so encouraging to see those lives being transformed and healed.
This coming Thursday, we are organizing an Easter Dinner for the transvestites, we’ve been handing out invitations and we hope many of them will come.
Pray that this will be a time where they can sense God’s love towards them, that they open their hearts to Jesus, and that we serve them the same way Jesus would.
We are also making another camp for them next month, we ask you to be praying with us for these 2 events we are organizing, that those men will find their true identity in Christ.

Planning moves us.

Oregon Team that spent 10 days serving with us.

Planning is always good, it gives us fuel and goals to reach, it moves us to pray even more.
And we have reasons for planning on these coming months.

Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been visiting 2 teenage girls at a kids Foundation, from the government, that works like a prison and also recovery, these girls were on crack and living in the streets of downtown Sao Paulo, it’s been a while since we from Toque have been discussing about the need of visiting the girls when they are under arrest, it’s easier to build a friendship with them when they are not on drugs, and out of the street environment.

On our first visit to the prison, the main Coordinator asked us if we were willing to start a weekly program with the girls, only with the girls who were hanging around the central area of the city, the ones we’ve been in contact for a long time.
We are very excited with this opportunity, we believe it’s a door the Lord is opening, and so our kids can be rescued and loved.
.
Our goal is to give a better attention to the girls, so after the season they spend at this kids prison, they won’t return to the streets anymore.

The treatment the girls are receiving at the foundation is very good, one more reason we want to keep in touch with the girls so all this work won’t be lost when they leave.
We are going to present our project to the Coordinator maybe this week, pray that God will give us wisdom and fresh insight of what He wants to speak into these girls lives.

Even though this Foundation is governmental, they are open for us to bring the gospel, so we don’t want to miss the opportunity.

Our Idea is to bring beauty treatments, bible study focusing on purpose and value in Christ, including some time talking and counseling them, if you have some more ideas, feel free to tell us.

Two weeks ago, a team of 5 lovely ladies came down from Oregon USA, to serve with us here at Toque, it was a refreshing and blessed time to have them being part of our family for 10 days.
Last year another team from their church came to serve also, and had also become great friends and supporters of our ministry.

We thank you and love you all!!

January updates! finally :D

Hey Guys!

As usual we always take a "while" to update our blog, we are working to improve our communication. Thank you for your patience. We were back on our activities on the first week of January, the street outreach has been very good, Joyce from Piracicaba spent the month of January with us here in São Paulo and had the opportunity to teach how to make chocolate truffles and Easter eggs to the women who are in prostitution, there was even a transvestite who joined us in one of our classes, wich where held every Tuesday of January.
A woman from one of the brothels was in all classes, she is very excited to get out of prostitution and is very interested about the truffles, her plan is to go back to her city and work selling truffles and Easter eggs. Pray that above all she will have real encounter with Jesus.
On days 26.27 and 28 we did a Summer Bible School for children who live at a squatter in bad conditions at the red light district. And on the 28th we did the summer Bible School with the street children. Our friend Ricco with his team's Expedition Backpack, organized an afternoon of games and Bible study for the children, we had so much fun with the kids and learned heaps with Ricco and his team.
We are still giving English classes to the girls in prostitution, it’s a tool to get closer to them, restore their dignity and build a relationship with them, since last year Fernanda has been giving classes to one of the pimps, its been such a great opportunity to spend time with her and show her God’s love, we believe that only the Holy Spirit is able to break her heart so she will surrender to God and change her lifestyle completely, as she earns a lot of money, and has no schooling, so giving up her job…means a vey humble lifestyle.
The great thing is that she says that this time she spends here with us at home, is a refreshing time, where she is away from the madness of the brothel.
I have just received a phone call from another lady who is a pimp at the brothel also, and two girls who works at her apartment wants to have English classes, they are starting next Tuesday morning.

Keep praying for us, for Matheus, Pedro and Mariana our leaders who left on vacation this week, pray that they will be restored and they can have a great time in family.
For Joyce in Piracicaba, she is back for another month before leaving on holiday, for the Grace of God upon her, and Melanie that will help her the next 3 weeks.
For the people who live at the family house in Piracicaba, a Duda, Aninha, Adriana ( is going to mission school), Alberico, Fábio, Romário, Cibele and Dinho.
And the missionaries here in São Paulo Caetano and Fernanda Adriano, Luciana and Arthur, specially for Luciana’s pregnancy.
